Benjamin Oliver
In 2002 Benjamin, along with his father Anthony, founded McCarthy Concrete. After nine years working in the field and managing the company, Benjamin diverged from MC to start an architecture firm, BOAD. BOAD is a full service design firm working in commercial, residential, and hospitality predominately in NYC and surrounding areas.
Benjamin's experience in construction and business management, along with his design sense, gives BOAD the ability to create vision and culture for projects and also understand the construct-ability and costs of delivering a quality project.
Benjamin currently lives in Nosara for the purpose of servicing this project and has spent a significant amount of time in Nosara since 2007.
Anthony McCarthy / Billie Sue McCarthy
Anthony McCarthy and Billie Sue McCarthy are father-daughter owners and managers of McCarthy Concrete. They have been working together for over two decades, growing MC from a small start-up to one of the most respected commercial concrete companies in New England.
Anthony has been working in construction since 1973 and has a long history of entrepreneurship and business experience in many different genres, from construction to retail. He started McCarthy Concrete with Benjamin and his wife in 2002, and it is now a $20 million a year corporation.
Over the last several years, Anthony helped friends in Costa Rica with their start-up, giving him "boots on the ground" business experience in Nosara, from labor force management to importing/exporting.
Billie Sue is the administrative executive of MC; her management involves several aspects of the business, including all financials, project management, human resources and legal; she came into management after working in the field with Benjamin and bidding projects with Anthony.
Billie Sue lived in Costa Rica during the fall of 2010, embedding herself in the culture and inner workings of Nosara.
